Artistic style description

She is inspired by the works of the great Masters, especially the Renaissance period. The monumentality of figurative painting, the fineness of line and form, combined with a bright color palette and the lightness of oil technique, characterize the artist's style. Ilze Laizāne’s painting is realism combined with a dream-like ethereal atmosphere. Each painting is a poetic and symbolically figurative composition that contains a true story or a mystery. The artist expresses her emotions and unconscious nature impulses, which are transformed on the canvas into surreal and mythological images and nuanced details. Not only the fine forms of nature come through Ilze Laizāne’s paintings, but also female beauty, a mysterious and multifaceted individuality and immeasurable power.
