“To be more honest with what I’m creating. Allowing something new to blossom inside of me. To let go and be free. To come back and feel alive.”

The exhibition features recent works in which the artist has experimented with techniques and materials. The paintings are purposefully untitled, leaving an abstract and open space for interpretation. In contrast to previous works in which the artist focused more on concepts, this series emphasizes the presence of the painting process itself as well as the artist’s own feelings. Creating a painting is a transformative process of experiencing and dealing with different emotions.

Laura Juhņeviča (1993) is an emerging artist. She graduated from the Jānis Rozentāls Art School and is attending preparatory courses in painting at the Art Academy of Latvia with artist Klāvs Loris. Laura has worked as a decorator for showcases and events. She actively follows and shares local art events on her social media. Her first solo exhibition A Wonder of Getting Closer was organized in 2018 at Galerija Centrs shopping center.
