Gita Palma (1991) is a Latvian artist from Latgale with two master’s degrees in arts from the University of Daugavpils and the University of Latvia and a bachelor’s degree from the Latvian Christian Academy. The central theme of her work is trains and railways, symbolizing the way to home, safety, and stability, as well as documenting the history of Latvian trains through time and space. Since 2012, Gita has organized 20 solo exhibitions and participated in 33 group exhibitions. Palma is the director of the Roberts Mūks Museum in Galēni. She is currently based in Preiļi, Latvia.
