Laura-Maria Vahimets (1999) is an Estonian textile artist who received her bachelor’s degree in Textile Art from the Art Academy of Estonia. Her artistic practice focuses on incorporating natural elements and materials. The artworks in the exhibition, created using the cyanotype technique, were made in the summer of 2024 at the artist residency in Reykjavik, Iceland, using sunlight and sea elements such as algae, rocks, crab remains and sand. The works created outdoors have a unique glow and mysticism, bringing the sea world to life on canvas. Since 2018, Vahimets has participated in 11 group exhibitions, including international art residencies. She is currently based in Tallinn, Estonia.
