The task of an artist is to awaken the human Soul from everyday life and to give faith in one's own strength.
The artworks of Marina Medvedeva, creative pseudonym MARIN_MEDI, are based on the philosophy of "structured chaos". Comprehension that the whole world is a chaos and our task is to structure it in our Soul and enjoy life, if possible! Everyone is able to create their own reality if they believe in themselves. The power of abstract painting lies precisely in the way it addresses the subconscious of a Human and the depths of the Soul.
The uniqueness of MARIN_MEDI's paintings is formed by the combination of several elements - the author's technique and the semantic weight, in the form of a quote that is in line with the artist's own philosophy. Paintings cannot be repeated.
Philosophy of the artist
Marina Medvedeva is convinced that only we can create ourselves and, as a result, the world around us. No one has an exact answer on how to do it, but it can be found in time-tested wisdom. In our childhood we all read fairy tales, know a lot of folktales and sayings, quotes from famous people, that have become classics. These wisdoms give us important clues, but in the whirlwind of life we often forget about them.
For several years now, Marina has been creating her works by combining two energies - the "power of colour" and the "power of word". Quotes close to the artist are written on the paintings. They are handwritten on the pages of an old book, as if someone had written down an interesting idea so that they would not forget it. The quotes are surrounded by several layers of paint, but are visible, forming associations with the process of cleaning up an old wall. When you stop and look, the painting comes to life from the incomprehensible spots and uneven surfaces. The abstract compositions are designed as a link to the subconscious, allowing the viewer to indulge in the flow of emotions and associations evoked by the colours, the brush stroke pattern and the texture of the painting.
To see the structure in chaos, to feel perfection in imperfection and to be aware of the impossibility of the ideal. Without fear of accepting the floating and the temporary. Japanese call this condition of the soul WABI-SABI, this philosophy of life is close to the artist herself, and she wants to pass it on through her paintings.
