In the course of lectures about the Latvian history and personalities “Personalities. Events. Changes.” this lecture will be focused on the developments in Latvia during the Second World War, which are characterized by three keywords: the Holocaust, eugenics and the card-cross, namely, the time of Nazi German occupation. In essence, it will be a story about how people's lives in Latvia changed dramatically in a few years, with the Nazi regime replacing the Soviet occupation. A military figure has been chosen as the central figure or pioneer - General Oskars Dankers, who headed the Directorate of Internal Affairs which included the territory of Latvia in the Ostland Reich Commissariat. The lecture will be an exploratory journey into the history of Latvia, allowing us to get to know and explore the period of the Second World War, which has left a significant impact on the collective memory and written creative works.

Watch and participate! During the lecture, questions will be asked. If answered correctly, you will have the opportunity to receive prizes.
