Until October 27, the “Art Platz” gallery is showcasing the second part of the exhibition dedicated to the centenary of the artist Valdis Bušs. The exhibition has been supplemented with new, carefully selected works to allow visitors to more fully appreciate the artist’s creative legacy.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore Bušs’ distinctive use of color and the unique nuances of his style, which are summarized in the book “On the Bright Side of Life. Valdis Bušs,” published by the “Art Platz” gallery. The book offers a comprehensive introduction to the artist's creative world.
“Valdis Bušs’ painting is a story of his love for native Latvia and its nature’s beauty, his love for colors and chosen craft.” Līga Baņķiere, Ieva Trillo ("On the Bright Side of Life. Valdis Bušs”).
Bušs is one of Latvia’s most prominent landscape painters. He remained dedicated to his work until the end, leaving behind a vast legacy of several thousand sketches and paintings. His artworks are characterized by vivid, contrasting colors and color combinations, saturated, pastose brushstrokes, and pronounced texture; his works are expressive and dynamic – alive.
