In the course of lectures about the Latvian History and Personalities “Personalities. Events. Changes.” the fifth lecture will be focused on the economic processes of the end of 19th century and the beginning of 20th century in the then existing Russian Empire Baltic provinces, in one name called industrialisation. That will be a story about how Latvian workers gained financial prosperity, and not only developed their businesses but also engaged in patronage and charity. The central figure chosen is Latvian industrialist, public figure and patron Augusts Dombrovskis.
