In the course of lectures about the Latvian History and Personalities “Personalities. Events. Changes.” in the tenth lecture we will focus on the political processes in Latvia during the period of parliamentarism (1920-1934). It will be a story about Latvia's recovery from the consequences of World War I - infrastructure, human resources and socio-economic aspects, as well as the first steps taken in international politics, including the League of Nations. We will also focus on Latvia's domestic policy and the most significant challenges of this time. Latvian politician, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Zigfrids Anna Meierovics has been chosen as the central figure or pioneer. The lecture will be an exploratory journey into the history of Latvia, allowing to get to know and learn about Latvia's political history in the fascinating era of the 'rolling twenties', as named by Americans, which has undoubtedly had a significant impact on the people's collective memory and written creative works.
